Born in St Faiths, Norfolk in 1934 Geoffrey was educated at The Paston Grammar School, North Walsham. He is largely self taught, mainly by close study of the Constable sketches in the V&A museum, and his main concern is trying to get the mood of the time, place and season in his paintings.
 

He has exhibited extensively, with groups including the Norwich Art Circle and Bury St Edmunds Art Society; as well as the Mall Galleries in London, the R.A.; Royal Society of Marine Artists; the Paris Salon; West of England Academy and
Llewellyn Alexandra Gallery.

Work in permanent collections: Atkinson A.G., Southport; Norfolk County Council and
Norwich Union Insurance Co.

He is a member of the Norwich and Norfolk Art Circle.
