Ray Leech was born at Great
Yarmouth in 1949 and now lives at Oulton Broad, Lowestoft. He
studied Art and Design at the Great Yarmouth College of Art and
besides painting, he is a partner in a design illustration studio in
Norwich.
In 1986 he exhibited for the first time at
the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries in
London, at which he won the Charles Pears prize for the best
non-member’s work. The following year he was elected a full
member of the RSMA.

He exhibits regularly in the USA and
London, and on two occasions has been a finalist in the Hunting
Group painting awards. He
has received numerous commissions from various sources, notably
the Sultan of Oman.
