Born in 1932, Aidan Kirkpatrick was education at Ulverston Grammar
School and the Glasgow School of Art. He studied painting under
Gilbert Spencer, R.A., Douglas Percy Bliss and Trevor Mackinson.
He took up etching under the
guidance of Henry Holzer in 1974; he was given a Goldsmiths’ Travel
Award in 1976; and he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of
Arts in 1983.
He now works principally in
England, Scotland and Belgium.

Aidan has exhibited with the Royal Society
of British Artists; the Royal Institute of Painters in
Watercolour; the Royal Water Colour Society and the Royal
Society of Marine Artists.
He was for twenty years the chairman of
the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists. His many one-man shows
in the East of England have included Snape Maltings; The Haste
Gallery (Ipswich); the Crome Gallery (Norwich) and the Holford
Gallery (London).
He is
represented in collections all over the world. His work
can be found at
Sea Pictures Gallery, Clare, Suffolk. |
