MARK CHURCHMAN

Mark was born in Colchester in 1963 and now lives in the coastal village of Kessingland on the Suffolk coast.

He studied Wildlife illustration at Dyfed Collage of Art in Carmarthen, on the beautiful coast of
South Wales.

Having spent most of his life living near the coast or close to water it is these subjects that find their way into his watercolour paintings. Particularly it is the quieter coastal waters where the stiller water produces fascinating reflections with the little nuances of light, reflection and refraction between the subject and the water which Mark spends much of his time trying to capture.

In The summer of 2004 Mark was one of the 400 finalists in the Not The Turner Prize Competition, organised by the Daily Mail newspaper and being exhibited in the Mall Galleries London.
