RUSS FOSTER

Born 1928 in an East Coast fishing village to a seafaring family, Foster jointed the Merchant Navy as a deck boy in 1943. He later worked for British Columbian Fisheries and fished in Scotland.

He is a self taught artist, starting with small water colours painted during the long sea voyages but once back on dry land he produced work in oils and acrylics. He is particularly interested in fishing and off-shore oil scenes.
