John Shave is now permanently based in England. Formerly he lived in Australia, where he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts of South Australia. He has won several awards for his paintings and written for Australian Artist magazine.

Previously, when visiting from Australia, he has shown at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters at the Mall Galleries.

John paints full time, and tutors both privately and at summer schools for several residential art centres. He works in oils, pastel and watercolour and is available for commissions.
