MANDY WALDEN

I am a printmaker based  close to the Suffolk coast and it is this area that is a constant source of fascination and inspiration to me.

My work tells a story of the world around me...crumbling cliffs and a relentless sea, fishing boats and tumble down huts, a bittern hidden in reeds or hares darting across fields. I like to compose an image consisting of elements of a location rather than an exact replica, to convey the atmosphere and narrative of a place .

I am essentially self taught and have become obsessed by the incidental and textural nature of printmaking to the extent that I now work entirely  with collagraph or drypoint blocks from  a very small garden studio with a very large etching press !

All the pieces are hand finished once the main print has been produced which means that they are all slightly different even though the image is constant. I produce an edition of 25 with approximately 3 artists' proofs.

I exhibit on a regular basis with galleries throughout East Anglia and at The Norwich Print Fair.

Framed prints retail between £85 and £320 each.
